Discover the "Special Day"
For millenniums, humans have given a special and historically changeful significance to several days. During the course of history, originally pagan harvest festivals that way developed into religious holidays influenced by salvation history. Later on, days commemorating to the end of conquering battles and national holidays were added.
After World War II, numerous World Days or Days of Action were created, on which the international community pays special attention to the concerns of certain groups of people (e.g. World Refugee Day). Interest groups as well, use the creation of World Days for their publicity. So there is a Day of Children's Book (International Board on Books for Young People) or the Day of German Beer (Brewers Association). A single person actually created the Day of System Administrator.
It's not easy to get aware of or keep in mind most of these days unless you own a Calendar of World Days to look them up daily. Worlddays.net offers an easy to handle opportunity to get regularly and automatically informed about these days via Twitter.
If you, too, don't want to miss any of these days in future, enjoy following us on Twitter. Our service is provided in German (@welttage) and English (@worlddays).
